Our Services

A Multidisciplinary Approach to Therapy Services. We are here to work with you, and support you in every step of your journey.

At Pearsons Services, we understand that each person has their own unique needs and interests.

As such, we offer a broad range of services to meet these individual needs. We work to develop new and unique strategies and programs, using a strength based approach and adapting this for each child. This ensures that therapy is a fun and motivating learning experience. Our services are designed and tailored so that they can be effective when utilised independently, or when multiple services are used simultaneously, allowing for a comprehensive and collaborative approach.

If there is a service or program that you would like to see us offer, please contact our team and let us know.

The intake process for Adult and Children’s services

All that we need from you is a phone call, email, fax or letter with your contact details and our Admin Team will contact you to book in an initial intake appointment. This appointment is free of charge and is conducted with one of our highly trained Intake Officers who can support you in understanding your NDIS plan and making the most of your funding. The Intake Officer and Admin Team will book in your Initial Therapy Consult with your clinician.

At your Initial Therapy Consult, you will meet with your clinician, and they will conduct a more thorough case history regarding the client’s discipline specific needs. This appointment is a one-hour face to face appointment, with a further 30 minutes for the clinician to review any previous reports and begin planning for therapy. If you are receiving more than one service with Pearson’s Services, further disciplines will commence with the standard 45min face to face appointment and will conduct their case history in this time, with a further 15 minutes for noting and follow up.

In most cases your clinician will need to conduct an assessment to gain an understanding of your current skill level, to plan for ongoing therapy and how we can best support you in achieving your goals. Assessment times vary depending on the age and skill level of the participant, they can usually be completed over 2 or 3 sessions and will be conducted in your first few regular sessions, where available we may ask to book an additional session to complete these as quickly as possible. Our clinicians will then discuss our reporting options and the creation of therapy or term plans.

Ongoing therapy can include working one on one with you to assist in skill development, and/or focus on building capacity of those caring for you so they are able to assist with your skill development. We can work closely with other health professionals to provide a holistic service to your care and development, such as psychologist, GP, dietitian and other allied health providers.

Therapy sessions are conducted weekly or fortnightly and the location of these services is customized and flexible to your needs, which often includes in our clinic or at Pearson’s Farm, at your school, care facility, workplace, in the community or within your own home.

We offer services to participants across the lifespan, from birth through to care later in life. Early Intervention clients are those from birth through to age 7.

We believe that you and your family are at the centre of everything we do and work with you to understand your needs and goals in this critical time. Following the NDIS guidelines of Early Intervention, we also believe in intensive services, as this best practice to support you and your child to increase their skills and meet their goals. We will support you with therapy sessions with our highly skilled clinicians and can also offer extra support sessions with our team of Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) who follow specific plans created by your clinician. The Key Worker Model

We understand how important it is to work in partnership with families. Working in partnerships gives you choice and control about how to support your child. To support this partnership, Pearsons Services Early Intervention families can choose to have Key Worker services.

Your Key Worker:

  • Is the person you will see and talk to the most at Pearsons Services.
  • Is the main worker involved with your family.
  • Helps you organise services you receive from Pearsons Services and potentially other services if required.
  • Coordinates the team who supports your child including childcare, preschool, school, community activities, private therapists and medical staff- i.e. updates the team about changes in goals etc.
  • Will support you to access mainstream services i.e. play groups.
  • This model is the recommended best-practice approach by the NDIS for children with developmental delays or disability.
