Animal Social Time
Personalised, and intimate bonding time with animals over a range of activities.
What to expect during the session
Come and meet some of our amazing farm and native animals in our Animal Social Time Group. Animals can be a wonderful motivator, helping children feel comfortable, confident, and engaged – and they’re often the perfect icebreaker for making new friends.
This group is all about working together. Each week, participants decide as a team which animals they’d like to spend time with and what activities they want to do. Some weeks might be all about our gentle ponies, while other weeks could involve feeding the goats, brushing the donkeys, or meeting our native wildlife.
The focus is on building social skills in a relaxed, supportive setting – taking turns, sharing responsibilities, and communicating with each other while enjoying hands-on experiences with the animals.
At the end of each term, we celebrate with a shared party where children and animals enjoy games, activities, and time together.
The Animal Social Time Group can help with:
- Building confidence in group situations
- Developing communication and teamwork skills
- Learning to cooperate and share
- Reducing anxiety and feelings of social isolation
It’s a fun, flexible way for participants to connect with both animals and each other.
