Our Story
Est. 2014 – Built on Experience, Passion, and Family Values
Pearson Allied Health Services was founded in January 2014 by Karen Pearson, an experienced Speech Pathologist who had previously worked across Disability SA, GP Plus, and as a sole trader during the South Australian NDIS trial period.
Motivated by her own journey navigating support for two of her children, Karen created Pearson Allied Health Services to deliver the type of care she wanted for her own family—genuine, high-quality, person-centred, and grounded in empathy.
From One to Many
What began as a solo practice has grown into a thriving, multidisciplinary team with a strong reputation for trust, flexibility, and client satisfaction. Today, we proudly support:
- Children, teens, and adults with disabilities
- Families seeking a responsive, holistic approach
- NDIS participants who want tailored, empowering services
A New Chapter – Honouring Our Founder
In 2025, Karen semi-retired, turning her focus toward her passion project—Pearson Farm & Animal Rescue, a registered charity dedicated to the care, rescue, and rehabilitation of animals, and animal-assisted learning.
As a result, Pearson Allied Health Services officially became Pearson’s Services—a new name that better reflects the diverse, holistic range of supports we now offer across therapy, life skills, respite, and animal-based programs.
The organisation is now led by a dedicated leadership team, including several of Karen’s sons, who continue the family tradition of genuine, people-first service delivery.
🌿 Today and Tomorrow
We remain a family-owned and values-driven organisation, proud of our roots and excited for the future. From therapy and behaviour support to mentoring, respite, and animal-assisted experiences, our goal remains unchanged:
To help every person live their fullest life—supported by care, compassion, and meaningful connection.
Family Advisory Group
Meeting the needs of our Community
Feedback from our participants, families, carers and the community is important to all of us at the Pearson Allied Health Services team. This information helps us to ensure we continue to provide high quality services that meet the needs of our community. To assist us in this, our Family Advisory Group meet regularly to discuss and provide feedback on our current programs and services, proposed programs and our policies and procedures. Our Family Advisory Group consists of a mix of current Pearson Allied Health Services Participants and their parents, guardians and carers.
