My DS who is now 3 has had speech and language delay there were concerns about autism as well, we were lucky enough to have him in speech therapy for the past year and he now attends a child development center one morning a week, i am happy to say he is now well on his way to talking in sentences, i thought this would never come i went through a stage of absolute despair as there was no progress for such a long time,i am so proud of what he has achieved although still a good bit behind his peers he will be ready in time for school,he doesn’t get as obsessive with things now i am unsure if it was just a phase but it seems all his little quirks and are just part of his personality which makes us love him even more.
I am so grateful that he is happy and healthy and just wanted to say that i think mumsnet is amazing and it certainly helped me a lot this last year
